Board Members
| Mike Schwar, PhD, PE, CFM Michael Schwar is Principal Water Resources Engineer at Stony Point Hydrology LLC. Mike has over 30 years of professional and academic experience focusing on the hydrology and hydraulics of surface water systems, with special emphasis on the restoration of streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands. He has worked on more than 150 surface water projects in 22 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. Mike received his Ph.D. (Civil Engineering) from the UW-Madison, is a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin and five other states, and has been a Certified Floodplain Manager since 2006. | Susan Coyle, PE, CFM Susan Coyle is Baxter & Woodman’s Wisconsin Water Resources Department Manager, leading a team that delivers flood management, stormwater, and municipal services. Previously, she worked for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD), where she managed planning-level studies and modeling, supported Watercourse projects with floodplain mapping changes, and enforced MMSD’s Stormwater Rule. Susan values the way flood management affects communities and enjoys translating complex technical information for non-technical audiences. She holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Susan is a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin and Illinois and a Certified Floodplain Manager. She chairs the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust (Sweet Water) and serves on the Steering Committee for the Future City Competition Wisconsin Region. ![]() | Aaron Wallner, PE Aaron Wallner is a Water Resources Project Manager at Becher Hoppe Associates, Inc. Aaron has over 14 years of engineering experience with the first half of his career being with the Northeast and Northcentral regions of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. While at Becher Hoppe Aaron has shifted his focus to dam inspections, dam failure analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, stormwater management, and permitting for sensitive areas. Aaron received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in environmental, municipal, and transportation studies from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. | Minal Hahn, PE, CFM Minal Hahm is the co-founder of M Squared Engineering (M²), now part of DB Sterlin Consultants, Inc. She has civil engineering experience in transportation engineering, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design, recreational facilities design, residential, commercial and industrial land development, agency permitting, and public works design in both Wisconsin and Illinois. She is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), with a strong understanding of local, as well as, federal requirements as they relate to stormwater and site development projects. Minal serves on WAFSCM, Friends of Cedarburg Parks and Rec, coaches her daughter’s Destination imagination team, and has served as a judge and finals round judge for the Future City Competition in Milwaukee for the past 16 years.
